Tate VS. Rousey: Strikeforce Female MMA Bantamweight Championship Fight

Miesha Tate VS Ronda Rousey – Fight Results & Play-by-Play

It’s been a long time since there has been a female MMA fight that has been hyped as much as Tate vs. Rousey so expectations are high.  Will Tate retain her title against a lessor experienced Rousey?  Or will Rousey prove she belongs at the top of Female MMA by winning the most important fight of her career?

For months we have heard the trash talk back and forth, but tonight the trash talk means absolutely nothing.  All that matters is who’s arm is raised at the end of the fight.

How they Stack Up

Miesha Tate: 12-2 Professional MMA Record
135 lbs, 5′ 6″ tall, Age 24, Fighting out of Olympia, Washington
Team Alpha Male

Tate is currently fighting off of 6 straight wins, however, Miesha has only fought twice in the past 18 months.

Ronda Rousey: 4-0 Professional MMA Record
135 lbs, 5′ 7″ tall, Age 24, Fighting out of Venice, California
Team Hayastan / Glendale Fighting Club

Rousey is currently undefeated in her 4 professional fights. She was active in 2011 with all four fights being won in a matter of months.

Play By Play

Round 1:

- Tate comes out swinging and Rousey takes her down to stop the onslaught.

- Rousey can’t finish the arm bar.

- Back to their feet, Rousey continues with some jabs and brings Tate down with a hip-toss.

- Tate gives up her back. Rousey looking for the arm again.

- Tate TAPS. Amazing first round victory by arm bar submission.

Rousey is the REAL DEAL.

Fight Results:

1st Round Submission:  Rousey by submission over Tate. Arm Bar
